This is a short review of the Rocket League game released a few days ago. This could be the start of a new e-game competitive sport. It is getting great reviews and according to some people this could be a real contender for one of the most popular e-game sports next to Dota 2 and Counter Strike.
The game is really simple, we have two teams. Red team and blue teams, we have two goals on each side of the playfield and the team which scores more goals wins. It’s basically soccer, but instead of human players you control crazy buggy cars with various powers.
The powers like boost is a very versatile power that you can use for attacking, defending or just hitting the enemies to distract them.
While the concept might seem simple, the game is quite clever and has the right feel to it. You have to play it to really understand what we’re talking about here.
The game is easy to understand but hard to master. But when you do master it you can score goals with crazy and fun maneuvers never seen in any other games before.
Using the ceiling of the playfield and the side walls can help a lot to an experienced player.
Currently, the cost of the game on PS4 is nothing. It’s actually free for all PS4 and PS4 plus owners and there is no reason not to download it. For PC the price is nice rounded $20 and by our opinion it’s worth every penny.
BTW, there’s cross play across the platform.
Also understand that the game really comes alive when you play it with a friends, playing alone just doesn’t feel the same.
One of the coolest features of the game is split screen multiplayer rarely seen in today’s racing games.
You can customize your vehicle making it unique and cool looking, plus put on your national flag on just to let everyone around you know where you come from. The customization is quite deep and you can choose from a lot of options.
There’s also a promise of free DLC coming soon, which makes this deal even sweeter. In fact the game got quite popular fast and the development team didn’t provide enough servers so if you buy it right now you can expect some servers issues, which will most probably get fixed in a few weeks.
